THIS WEEK’S 10 HIGHEST RATED COMMENTS
Score:22 | Dec 16th
Y’all, I made a decision to give up the opposite website fully. I haven’t been attending religiously currently anyway, however I’m not going to go to them in any respect anymore. It was that 20 Best “Rock” Albums that did me in. Absolute rubbish. I get that rock isn’t the preferred style in the mean time, however no less than faux to respect it and don’t make favorable comparisons to Disney soundtracks on it. Plenty of us millennial males nonetheless care.

Alright I’m a brown dude that lives in Los Angeles. I work no less than within the periphery of the leisure trade, in that my day job has the phrase Entertainment in it (even when I largely stare at databases all day) and I’m a neighborhood musician of no explicit acclaim. Hollywood is blindingly white in a variety of methods. I grew up listening to rap music and watching Martin and I do really feel some satisfaction once I see man like Bruno Mars who seems like me turn into an enormous pop star or see a multi-racial franchise like Fast & Furious turn into the largest dumb film franchise going.
On the opposite hand: why is that this at all times our battle??? There’s a man who ran on a mainly brazenly white supremacist platform headed to the White House and we’re imagined to be outraged in regards to the illustration in La La Land? That a bunch of Hollywood sorts that don’t precisely hand around in Boyle Heights not to mention some place like I dunno, Lynwood, don’t have brown or homosexual individuals of their film (not that they need to be those writing that story)? I’m all for extra equal illustration on display and in media normally however in some unspecified time in the future, I DO NOT CARE. EFF U, PAY ME.
Sorry if this was a bit ranty, I’m simply bored with how dialogue of POC illustration continually middle on the media and films, whereas precise energy – issues like “having positions in government”, “being able to buy a house” – are continually getting eroded away.

Headline: Spotify Teases New Dirty Projectors Album Little Bubbles
Body: “and whatever Little Bubbles actually is — presumably a new album but possibly just a new single”
Rhetorical query: ought to a author suggest band teased a brand new album if there’s no exhausting proof of that confirmed album?
